Podcasts:

Dr. Jim Hoven visits with Mirror Image Arts Executive Director Andrea Rabold and Program Director Maya Osterman on how students' lives are being changed through theater.  This is a must-listen-to understand how the Arts are making a difference.

This week co-hosts Andy Ininns and Jesse Huebner speak with Andrea Rabold, the Executive Director of Mirror Image Arts, about positive community impact, how theater can create that impact, and philosophize around being factual. The crew dives into mental wellness and how we all can give bullying less of a chance to exist as well as the hope that everyone in this human community can feel their value.

My special guest today is Andrea Rabold. Andrea is the Executive Director of a Colorado nonprofit called Mirror Image Arts. Andrea joined Mirror Image Arts in 2008 as an actress, continued to grow with the organization, and accepted the role of Executive Director in 2012. Andrea is passionate and curious about the human experience. She is deeply committed to exploring the intricacies of human potential, disrupting our systems of oppression, studying power dynamics, and discovering how we, humans, could support each other better. She came from Starbucks Corporation, where she served 13 years in various roles in retail sales, organization and program development, people management, operational leadership, project management, and event planning. Andrea has been with Mirror Image Arts for 13 years, and she graduated with a B.F.A. in Theatre from Sam Houston State University. I know you’ll enjoy getting to know Andrea and her unique perspective on intentional listening.

Maya Osterman-Van Grack has been an applied theatre practitioner for the past 10 years, and she is a firm believer in the transformative power of theatre and education. Maya is currently a Program Manager for Mirror Image Arts, a Denver-based theatre nonprofit. Through Mirror Image Arts, Maya is also the founder of Restorative Theatre, a program that works with incarcerated youth throughout the state of Colorado. She knows that theatre can be used as a tool to enable others to explore the social and emotional well-being of others and to bring awareness to social issues.

Has the pandemic caused an increased interest in arts and culture? What is the role of the arts in elevating social justice issues? Do we lose our creativity as we get older? Listen in to a group of Colorado artists discuss these questions and others as part of Changing the Narrative’s on the same pAGE intergenerational conversations.
