The Mirror Image Arts’ “I Got Your Back!” Program Showcase and Fundraiser was a wonderful success. Our great thanks to all of the wonderful donors and volunteers that made the evening possible. After such a success, we are even more motivated to bring our programming to the community! To keep this amazing work available to our youth, we need your help. If you were unable to attend the event, it’s not too late to show your support.

The true cost to Mirror Image Arts for a single workshop is $1500. Because of generous contributions from people like you, we are able to bring our program to schools for only $300 which ensures youth across the socioeconomic spectrum equal access to our important message. The best way you can help us is by becoming a Mirror Image Arts “Repeat Defender” and signing up to make a set donation of an amount of your choosing each month via PayPal on our Ways to Give page. Or, consider making a one-time donation.

We believe in what we are doing. We’re asking you to stand with us. Thank you for your support.

First Friday on Santa Fe can be hectic. People are clearly out for an evening on the town when navigating the sea of musicians, food trucks and artists. It was a bit daunting at first. But our anxieties were relieved when the evening started out with people clearly interested in the art from The Challenge Foundation students. These insightful pieces opened up opportunities for conversations with our amazing team. The reactions people had to the program were honest and the response was clear, “what schools are you in and are you coming to this school, county, district.” We could only reply, we want to be in all of them and we can do it with your help.

People are ready to help.

While this is just a snippet of things to come, our maiden voyage with the public was phenomenal. Our Board of Directors were there in full force guiding conversations to what Mirror Image Arts is doing and how we intend to change the face of bullying in Colorado Public Schools. It was all done thanks to Spark Theater Denver, The Challenge Foundation and many new friends who happened to cross our path on First Friday, August 2nd, 2013.

To really get a sense of what bullying is we asked a group of middle school students who participated in our pilot program, “What does bullying mean to you?” The results were amazing, beautiful and thoughtful. We are proud to display some of these pieces this Friday evening at Spark Theater Denver.

Don’t tell us that you have never been to First Friday…

Really? Well on the First Friday of every month in the Santa Fe Art District-Denver, you can see, walk, talk and maybe have a drink with established and up and coming artists in your community.

We will see you there this Friday, August 2nd. We are also pretty sure the Spark Theater wouldn’t mind if you wanted see their show, Laura, that runs now until August 24th. You can get tickets here.
